Conceptual thought means that your thoughts automatically assume the entire concept in processing... For instance war and peace are the opposites of the same concept//so are love and hate and so forth//so one must first recognize opposites before one can even begin the process...

Many times I have seen people attempting to do good end up harming instead because they were not aware of the totality of the concept and ended up harming themselves or others//ONE MUST ALWAYS LOOK AT THE ENTIRE PICTURE//Say a salesman or ad convinces you that you want something. If you were to take food out of your kids' mouths or cost them a needed pair of shoes, where is the good in this? And that is just the small and easy stuff that many manage to understand...

SUPPOSE: You are going to a healer to remove negatives from your astrosome, is there enough validity in the process that you can be assured that no positives are removed, are you sure of the negative in relationship to your whole being?//What is to be done with that energy once removed?//PHYSICS TELLS US THAT ENERGY CANNOT BE DESTROYED//Who is the practitioner sending it to?// Or is it just to float around looking for a new person to attach to... REFLECTION A LA HERMETICA

Reviewing the most basic principles of optics, light rays incident on the horizontal interface between materials of different density (composition) are both reflected and refracted. The diagram above shows an incident light ray traveling through air, and striking a pane of glass. The reflected light ray is shown in the upper right quadrant of the diagram, and the refracted ray in the lower right.

Although adepts are able to visualize both reflection and refraction (the process of auric vision), human eyes have trained themselves to see only reflected light. What humans see is the color that is not absorbed. So, if you see blue, the color of the item is actually everything but blue, and is reflecting the blue. This is true of everything you see, no matter what color it may be.

We must recognize that auric vision is inclusive of all of your five senses. I have many students that have auric smell and taste, yet have trouble dealing with refracted light. For now we will discuss reflected light. The incident light that actually allows you to see the reflected light is invisible. We’ve all seen how prisms bend light passing through them to create the entire spectrum of visible light. Because the crystal has already bent the light, the colors reflect, but you do not see the incoming light. Much more about this will be coming in the post on refracted light.

One of the more common problems that people create for themselves is wearing reflective color that actually weakens chakra areas in parts of their bodies where they may be experiencing difficulties. For example, if someone suffers migraine headaches, we are dealing with the purple chakra, the 6th chakra. As higher self attempts to send energy to your physical vehicle to assist you in maintaining health, equilibrium, and happiness, if you wear your purple blouse, you are reflecting that particular light which would be most helpful away from you. As another example, if you had an abdominal problem, you obviously would not want to wear yellow. If you had a heart problem, you would not want to wear green..

In conjunction with this, it is important to realize that energy comes in on the left and out on the right. Theosophically, the strongest position of intake is the little finger of the left hand. If you wear a reflective ring, e.g., turquoise, lapis lazuli, chrysicolla, you will stop that energy from being absorbed in your body. So, for example if you had COPD, asthma, sinusitis, sore throat, or difficulty expressing yourself, even on a test at school, (all 5th/blue chakra issues) wearing this reflective blue stone would only impede higher self from supplying you with the necessary energy to heal or to improve your expressive ability. Conversely, that same stone or ring worn on the right would hold that energy in and promote healing. On the other hand, if you are going out for a job interview or taking a test, you certainly would not want that reflective blue stone on the right hand, because it would impede you from expressing outwardly.

Let’s take the case of a person with diabetes or a strong disposition to diabetes and apply the basic Hermetic and ayurvedic principles. What should we do? 1. Do not wear yellow. 2. A reflective yellow stone on the right would help hold in the energy from higher self and assist you in healing, or at least controlling this. 3. Of course, the wearing of a refractive yellow, whether it be citrine, yellow, chrysoberyl, heliodor, or yellow sapphire would greatly enhance your control and healing ability in this instance. Following these basic principles, you are certainly capable of reviewing self and things you wish to do, and applying them to any part of your vehicle.

What happens when we die: A Hermetic description

I am on tricky ground here, for one of Cougina’s favorite axioms is, “Belief is the death of knowledge.” The subject is on my mind because two of my close friends, women half my age, have recently experienced the death of a parent, and I know that many of you also face the loss of loved ones. What follows is a report of Cougina’s experience, as described to me. Both your open-mindedness and your skepticism are requested.

After death, one’s physical, mental, and emotional bodies are discarded, and one’s spiritual body returns to the guf, the hermetic word for the etheric place of discarnate souls. The death process happens quickly, completing in a few hours. The tunnel of white light, the waiting family members, the life review, and the ghoulish visitations described by some Eastern paths are dependent on the belief system of the dying person, and are not an inevitable part of the death experience. Dying is an easy process, significantly easier than birth.

The guf is a place of ecstasy, but the soul cannot tarry there -- rebirth must be taken within three lunar cycles of death. The soul is free to choose its next incarnation from among extant fetuses on earth at the time. Based on today’s demographics, for example, a yellow soul will look for a set of yellow parents, and, if that is not available, a yellow mother and blue father. An adept will look for adept parents. The body will be chosen in part for the opportunity to fulfill karmic requirements, but the focus is on karma as a present reality, not as repayment for past deeds. With rare exceptions, the soul is alone in this process, without the guidance of a wiser being.

[As a side note, hermetic opinion on abortion derives from the way that incarnations are chosen. A soul may have reserved a fetus, and be enjoying the bliss of the guf, and if that fetus is then destroyed by abortion, the soul may be left scrambling for a suitable body at the last minute. However, until a soul has occupied a fetus, abortion is allowable. Once a soul has entered, abortion is to be avoided. The soul does not necessarily enter at the moment of conception.]

Regarding reports that dead loved ones watch over us, visit, or communicate with us, this is possible until the body of the next incarnation reaches puberty. The spirit body is not active until puberty, and until then is free to involve itself with incarnate souls from its previous life. Hermetica cautions against mediumship, in the sense of conjuring the spirits of the dead, as conjuring may negatively interfere with the soul’s work in its current life.

One is born many times, until all that is possible to be experienced has been experienced. Cougina uses the analogy of dipping a cup into the ocean. One dips the cup repeatedly, until every drop of water has been tasted. Therefore, it is to be expected that many people will remember a past life as Cleopatra; this is possible if one drop of a person’s current body comes from the body that was Cleopatra. Some drops of water will have come up repeatedly, and will result in strong abilities and/or personal qualities. When two past incarnations, A and B, were intimately connected, and one person living today shares many drops in common with A, and another person living today shares many drops with B, the feeling of strong connection is present that is sometimes referred to as being “soul mates.” For a person who has been a part of many incarnations, much of what exists, and many people, will seem familiar.

A soul retains continuous memory of its lives from the moment that it becomes adept, that is, achieves auric vision and telepathy. Cougina speaks from his experiences as an adept over several hundred years.

The basic aura is composed of 4 [four] parts the first being what we refer to as the health aura//and it extends out only 1 [one] inch from your body and is a very brilliant white on a healthy person//if there are spots on the body where it extends less than others it is a weak spot and thereby more subject to health dysfunctions in that area//that is where we use the application of various reflective and refractive colors usually semiprecious stones to try and strengthen the soft spots///IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS LIGHT IS NOT REALLY SOLID BUT BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF LITTLE NEEDLE EMANATIONS.
If their is a greying in the soft spot then a situation is already present even something as small as a pulled muscle will usually show,,of course if their is a greying of the entire health aura we are dealing with something that is affecting the entire vehicle...

The mental body is the next emanation and is really a continuation of a sort of the white needles but turning blue and extends approximately 2 [two] inches further//it is actually possible to determine intellect here by the hue of the color the lighter the higher the intellect//note: an extremely disturbed individual may have many varying shades of blue here and would probably benefit from professional help.

The most confusing and the most important to the reader of auras is the EMOTIONAL BODY, usually 3 [three] foot in radius...this is composed of all 7 [seven colors and may be directly related to the eastern chakra symboligy//or if one prefers the kabalistic TREE OF LIFE which is the same really except that the yellow, blue and purple are separated into 2 [two] opposing sides to facilitate the understanding of conceptual thought for the initiate...
So the RED comes from the area foot to mid thigh, the ORANGE from mid thigh to just above groin, the YELLOW from above groin to just around the navel, the GREEN from there to just below the shoulders, the BLUE to mid nasal, the PURPLE to the crown of the head, and the INDIGO to a foot over the head [note could not use color indigo due to background color on blog]

In the ideal situation these colors are totally within their domains but we live with decision and judgement and this is virtually never seen, occasionally a yogi or deep mediator may reach this state but very in frequently///almost always their are little shapes of different colors in all the various aspects of the emotional body and these are what the reader is using to interpert for you....i.e. if you have orange triangular shapes in the purple area you are probably thinking of sex and on and on really just a simple logic...

Once again these little globes, cubes triangles etc..emanate from the respective chakra area of the emotional body and are interperted in relation to their color and the area they present themselves into i.e. red cube in the green balance area lack of balance due to material concern.

Next is the Spiritual body//THIS EMANATES FROM THE ETHER AND NOT YOUR VEHICLE so could be visualized as little points rather than needles//there are three colors yellow/blue and green and might be considered representative of the theosophical TRINITY....
